Title: BTZ black hole in 2+1 dimensions
Abstract: In this article I shall review the original paper by Máximo Bañados, Claudio Teitelboim, and Jorge Zanelli – ”The Black hole in three-dimensional space-time”. The BTZ black hole is a solution to Einstein’s equations of general relativity, with negetive cosmological constant that describes a black hole in three-dimensional spacetime which is characterized by Mass, Angular Momentum and Charge. The computation of the geometrical quantities are done here using tetrad formalism. I have also shown a derivation of the Temperature and Entropy of the BTZ black hole. It can be seen that the BTZ black hole has the same thermodynamical properties as traditional black hole solutions such as Schwarzschild or Kerr black holes.
